Sorry I hadn't read the find man page yet:
    -exec command {} +
This variant of the -exec option runs the specified command on the selected files, but the command line is built by appending
each selected file name at the end; the total number of invocations of the command will be much less than the number of
matched files. The command line is built in much the same way that xargs builds its command lines. Only one instance of ‚{}‚
is allowed within the command. The command is executed in the starting directory.

    Hi LaFong,

Can I download your modified script for per user backup options? I try to download your script on this link DataFileHost - zmDBbac.sh But maybe the link are dead.

    Thanks

mkdir: cannot create directory `/Backup/sync/db_dumps': Permission denied
The script is meant to be called by the main backup script, which should be run as root and have permissions. You seem to be running it as a different user.

    Hi LaFong,

I only followed the instruction on page 35 of this thread [SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version

I notice the instructions are have this variable $ZM_USER

    su - $ZM_USER -c $SCRIPT_DIR"zmDBbac.sh $SYNC_DIR"
Maybe the problem are to call this script with different user account? Im not linux expert and this is only my assuming. Thanks

$ZM_USER is in the original backup script, and is determined by the line:
    Code:
    ZM_USER=`ps -ef | grep "$ZM_HOME" | grep "java" | grep -v "zmmailboxdmgr" | grep
     -v grep | awk '{print $1}' | head -n 1`
Ordinarily, it would be user "zimbra". The zmbak.sh script runs as user "root", zmDBbac.sh runs as the $ZM_USER. Check the permission of your $SYNC_DIR, /Backup/sync. It must be writable by $ZM_USER.

I beg your pardon. I must have changed ownership manually of $SYNC_DIR. $ZM_USER would not otherwise be allowed to write to it. I have added some lines to the main script changes which should hopefully fix the issue. Please review the changes to the main script again in the original post, and duplicate them to your main script.

    Default Restoring the backup

In case of problems, has anyone ever tried to restore the backup or is there a howto somewhere? :-)

The script backs up the entire zimbra directory. To restore, you just restore the entire directory. If you have set up other things outside of Zimbra, e.g. split DNS/BIND, those are not backed up by the script. You should have another backup method to get those.

If you restoring an entire server from scratch:
    1. Install OS
    2. Install Zimbra (the version you've been using)
    3. Replace /opt/zimbra with your backup.
    4. Restore/reinstall/reconfigure other items which are outside of Zimbra.

Alternately, some backup software allows bare metal restore.

    Hi LaFong,

Thanks. The updated version of your per user backup are working now. If I have time I try to restore the user mailbox for testing. Thanks again
