| | | NB: The "(Unknown command: "sendmail=")" error at the end appears to be some reference to the part of the script that installs the dummy MTA during installation, shown below: Code: echo
apt-get -y install mailx
if [ "$?" -ne "0" ]
then
install_fail mailx
fi
echo
echo "Writing config file "/etc/mail.rc""
echo "set sendmail=$ZM_HOME"postfix/sbin/sendmail"" >> /etc/mail.rc
else
echo "This script would like to send you a mail or two... so please install a dummy mta for your Distro"
echo I'm not sure why that should be invoked in the runtime portion of the script.. it's a bit odd. |

and sendmail based "mail" still doesn't work. I suggest you experiment with some manual testing of "mail" using the -v (verbose) option to see the SMTP dialogue. Sendmail Error 69 means "resource unavailable" ..the question is which resource? ..the SMTP dialogue might shed some light on that.
| Now, I am not sure if installing and stopping sendmail is the cause for the error message. But, I did install sendmail and stopped the service from running as adviced because it will grab port 25 which zimbra is already using. Please advice. Also, can you give me an example of the manual testing using the -v command. I am fairly new with linux command line. I have just being able to get to this point only with determination.

| | | i'll confess it's a long time since I debugged sendmail, and I'm still not 100% sure of the relationship between sendmail and Zimbra on the same box, but there's some hints here that might help. |

| | | Hi there.
I've found a bug in the script, but I don't have the knowledge to fix it, so I'm reporting what's happening.
I'm using the script since July 2008 and it has always worked right for me, until recently when my compressed backups got bigger than the default size of 4.3 GB (to fit in a DVD5) and when the script generates multiple file backups with dar, it can't calculate the MD5 sums for those files, dying with the following error: Quote:
/root/scripts/zmbac.sh: line 837: [: 42_Zimbra_Backup_22-outubro-2009_FULL.1.dar: binary operator expected
42_Zimbra_Backup_22-outubro-2009_FULL.1.dar
42_Zimbra_Backup_22-outubro-2009_FULL.2.dar not found!
This should not happen
| As far as I can tell (I haven't tested yet), the compressed *.dar files work right, only it can't calculate the MD5 hashes. |

As for a real solution we are waiting for some one to code a loop sequence that takes the MD5 statements for multiple DAR files. The real problem is that fixing this part may come to show latter errors that may need more fancy fixes. |

| | Can someone attach their currently working backup script that does everything for them, to look at and compare with mine, because mine does not seem to be working as expected. It worked couple of days and stop sending dar error message and also, I still can't get my email to work as expected. I have installed sendmail as root and stopped the process from running at startup, but I still get the same error message. Any tips on how to configure that? Below is the backup report: Quote:

| | | Can zmback script backup symbolic links? Hi everybody,
I'm testing a zimbra server mail in a machine and i have a doubt about the zmback script.
This server mail stores about 60Gb of emails and i use a internal hard disk to store the mails. This device is mounted under /media/zimbra/ and inside are located the "store" and "index" folders. To link to this folder I made symbolic links. The problem is that zmback script don't backup these symbolic links and the backup files that I obtain are abount 4Gb.
How can I backup these locations?
(Release 5.0.18_GA_3011.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 FOSS edition) |

But you said that I should make my DVD writer split the file on writing, I use k3b, do you know if it can do it on the fly or I'll have to split it manually before burning? |

| | I am still stuck with the email issues and the DAR issue with the -A option. Can someone help me resolve these issues. I have successfully created the ssh setup to a remote location, but becauise of the DAR issue the backup is not being transfered to the remote location. Below is the error message: Quote:
