Ok, but these are the only two lines that are not commented out:
Code:
zimbra soft nofile 524288
zimbra hard nofile 524288
I followed your instructions with no change in results, but did get this error:
Code:
zimbra@giskard:~$ zmproxyctl start

You are missing the port for auth_http. This means the reverse proxy URLs aren't populated in your server.

What is the output of
Code:
zmprov garpu
It should look something like:
giskard.k7sle.com:7072/service/extension/nginx-lookup

giskard.k7sle.com:7072/service/extension/nginx-lookup
Ugh... Any other ideas? I'd like to somehow backup the messages and just blow this whole install away and reinstall cleanly. I didn't find a specific wiki to help deal with that scenario. Hopefully, that might fix the problem? Oh, and though I haven't yet said it, I'll say it now: "Thanks! I really appreciate your help. "

Another option is to simply disable or remove the zmproxy component since, as a single server, I don't really need it, but, when I upgraded, couldn't remember if I was using it. All that I really care about is having an encrypted connection to the server. I didn't see any documentation on that idea anywhere, either.

Chris

What does line 47 of your nginx.conf file show, just so we can make sure the substitution worked right.

Can you connect to port 7072 via telnet?

Code:
telnet giskard.k7sle.com 7072
would be the proper command.
