Reading thru this forum has me terrified of upgrading to 5.0.x. Obviously only those with problems with the upgrade are actually posting here and maybe 99% of upgrades go smoothly, but from what I've heard from my boss I think it's likely I'll run into problems, and I'm certainly not an experienced zimbra administrator, nor do I have a lot of linux sysadmin experience (although I know my way around.)
The only reason I'm doing the upgrade is that after a restart of one of the machines the antivirus daemon wouldn't start, so rather than upgrading just clamav I'm upgrading zimbra itself. I'll probably just go to 4.5.10 and hold off on the 5.0.1 upgrade.
Here are some questions I have before I attempt this upgrade:
Does that segfault on RHEL5 issue only occur with the 5.0.1 upgrade, or has it happened on the 4.5.10 upgrade as well?
Are there any LDAP issues if I'm just going from 4.5.6 to 4.5.10?
Are there major schema changes that would make the 4.5.6 -> 4.5.10 upgrade take hours?
Would I be able to get phone support on the weekend if it does somehow go horribly, horribly wrong?
Thanks,
Matthew
