Default Where's that documented?

Thanks, jholder, but where is that documented? I'd like to review it so I can point other colleagues to it. They and I were under the impression that once calenders were successfully set up in iCal, they'd be available for sync'ing through iTunes.

I seem to have 'solved' my own problem (see the first post). My primary calendar in iCal was full of appointments from 2003 until now. When I started using Zimbra I just synced it using the Zimbra prefpane in OS X and that large calendar file became my Zimbra calendar. That went fine.

Recently I decided to archive all appointments before 2008 (did this in iCal, which then synced the deletions over to Zimbra), so my Zimbra calendar would be smaller. Since then I can use caldav with iCal without any problems. I see all my own and shared calendars.

So I guess the problem was that my original calendar in Zimbra was just too large.

Default CalDAV works on the iPhone!

Yup, it now works for me, too. I think my iCal was corrupted and, having fixed that, the CalDAV sync now works.

The corruption was very odd. I had subscribed to a calendar ages ago and deleted it. That subscribed calendar kept re-appearing over and over again, and I think it was messing up iCal's syncing, which is why the CalDAV calendars weren't showing up in iTunes.

Anyway, it now seems to work fine. However, it appears that new events entered on the iPhone can't be put into any CalDAV calendars during a sync, so some manual intervention is still going to be necessary.

We are having similar iCal syncing problems. It worked fine for a few days, then we started getting:

Code:
3/6/08 1:03:20 PM iCalExternalSync[231] [ICalExternalSync ]Encountered *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: url)
3/6/08 1:03:20 PM iCalExternalSync[231] [ICalExternalSync ]NSException name:NSInvalidArgumentException reason:*** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: url)
3/6/08 1:03:20 PM [0x0-0x21021].com.apple.iCal[217] 2008-03-06 13:03:20.781 iCalExternalSync[231:10b] [ICalExternalSync ]Encountered *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: url)
After these errors start popping up, calendars stop updating from then on. I noticed Bug 21690 - Leopard: Appointments not showing up in iCal that are in Web Client and BB, which has a description which matches this problem closely, but different errors shown in Console.

Software Versions:
-----------------------
Release 5.0.2_GA_1975.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 NETWORK edition
iCal Version 3.0.2 (1236)

I'm having the same problem. iCal <-> CalDav/Zimbra works fine, but Syncing from iCal using iSync to .Mac or other devices raises the same exception in /var/log/system.log on the Mac client.

Did you get a resolution?

Just following up from this: An additional issue is that iCal/iSync/iTunes doesn't like spaces in calendar names. So avoid spaces in names in iCal, and that should eliminate at least one annoying issue.

I've done everything possible on the client, in terms of clearing the Sync history etc as per Apple's guidelines, and got no success.

Changing all spaces in shared calendars with '_' underscores has resolved all issues and allows me to synchronise calendars with iSync and .Mac.
