Default migration from 4.5.1 opensuse > 4.5.1 ubuntu

    Hi
    I had done as
    /blog/archives/2007/10/moving_zcs_to_another_server.html
even if i used tar czpf because rsync is slower
    if i install.sh -s on ubuntu 6.0.6.1 zimbra 4.5.1 all is ok
    (if i use install.sh i receive a good installation)
but when i copy my zimbra backup cp -rp ....
change in localconfig.xml gid and uid to my new numer in the new server
(or i change uid and gid for zimbra in etc/passwd and /etc/group)
    zmfixpers
    install.sh (or install. sh -s)
i have all times the same result
    zmcontrol status gives me:
    mysql.server is not running
    tomcat is not running
if i do zmmypasswd --root newpassword
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/opt/zimbra/logger/db/mysql.sock
all other password i can change

    Hi
i migrate becase opensuse 10.0 life time finished at 30/11/2007 SUSE Linux Lifetime - openSUSE
i prefer to have my zimbra box on a OS living
zimbra 5.0 binary are not ready (and i think is not ready today ) for opensuse 10.0 so to upgrade zimbra i would have had to upgrade my OS from 10.0 to 10.2
i preferred to prove ubuntu for its LTS

Thks for answer! I was thinking to the same operation...but I my choice was Red Hat. Anyway, I will test also migration from SuSe to Ubuntu on a test server to learn...

Anyway, what was the TLS issue on Open SuSe because I have the same problem now (I use Open SuSe 10.3) and I need to use option Clear Text login

Support for CentOS is provided on these forums and CentOS is binary compatible with the RHEL builds. Many of the forum users have installed Zimbra on CentOS, I've been using ZImbra on CentOS since Zimbra was first released and without problems.
