    Default imap issues

    Hey folks,

We've got an issue with an imap user not receiving all of her mail in Outlook. The mail shows up in the web client, but not in outlook. We did have some server issues yesterday that we're still working on which may have caused the problem to happen in the first place.

So far we've tried re-syncing the mail and tonight we'll try unsubscribing and resubscribing to the folder.

I'm wondering if there is a way from the server side to force a client to re-download all the mail? Command line tool, flag in the data set, something along those lines?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks,

    -Ken

Are you using IMAP with Outlook? If you are, you should be using the ZCS-Outlook connector.

Rename the folder. IMAP doesn't have a way to correlate renamed folders with their original names, so renaming the folder will force a re-download.

(Note that this will only work for user folders. System folders like the Inbox are immutable.)

We've had to stop using the connector because of problems we've had with it.

Unfortunately, the problem is with the Inbox folder, so that won't help.

The subscribe/unsubscribe hasn't worked either, so I'm at a bit of a loss with this one.

I'll start looking at the imap system for Zimbra. Any other suggestions that you can think of would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    -Ken

Is there no easy way to just clear the Outlook cache on the user's PC? At that point, I'd assume it'd re-download from scratch.

I've tried different clients and it looks like it is a problem with outlook being confused on what is has/hasn't received yet.

Tonight, we'll try removing the local mail storage files so that its forced to re-download everything and see if that works.
