Default Thunderbird/Lightning Task

With in the past year I went from iCal to Thunderbird with Lighting. Since then I'm unable to delete the Tasks. I believe the tasks are associated with my calender with in Zimbra. Does anyone know how to delete task from Zimbra. I'm currently running Zimbra 5.0

Try the 'Status: Cancelled' trick - through the properties dialog 'More' section if using lightning 0.5 or from the menu Options -> Status -> Cancelled if using lightning 0.7

Saw the word 'calendar' & 'can't delete' and my one track mind fixated -lol
Ok so, can you edit these tasks at all? If so can you move them to the 'Home' cal then delete? (want to see if it's read only somewhere)
TB & Lightning versions?
ical/ics or CalDav?

I have already tried to change task to a local calender, I delete it comes back. From the Zimbra web interface I exported my calendar and this is what I noticed.

How did you remove the calendar entry in Tbird? Did you simply delete it?

Currently, to remove calendar entries in Tbird, you must mark them as Status: Cancelled.

I have solved this by enabling Task in ZNE 5.0, this allowed me to search for the task and delete them one by one. Now when I create a task it will show up in both Lighting and Task in Zimbra

I've never messed much with tasks, but regular calendar events have issues in Tbird/lightning: If you create a calendar entry with Lightning, you can move, delete, change it with Lightning and also view it on Zimbra. But the moment you actually modify it from the Zimbra web client, you lose control over it in Lightning. You can still see it, but any deletes or moves don't take.

The issue was discussed last year on this thread. I'd swear there was a bug filed on this, but I can't find it. Part of the issue is that we don't know to what extent the problem is Zimbra or Lightning.

I had kinda let the whole thing ride because of upcoming CalDav implementation in 5.x, which according to the wiki is now true. I've been too busy to upgrade yet at my shop so I have not had time to check it out, but this may fix the problem. . .at least I sincerely hope so!

Cheers,

Dan

I'm not seeing that issue anymore Dan. Whether it's Zimbra's fix or Lightning's, it seems to work okay now.

I was able to create events in Lightning, move and rename them in the ZCS web client. I was then able to move, rename and cancel it from Lightning. It still has to be marked Status: Cancelled but it works.

Good, that's progress. Are you still connecting via iCal, or have you tried CalDAV?
