Sit tight, their working out an auto-update component - it most definitely will be showcased when it's ready
In the meantime, if you don't already use the original FF DnD add-on you might checkout: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2190

I have that add on installed ... it does not do what I thought it would lol ... on my Linux machines if I drag and drop a file, yeah it'll try to open it or something in Firefox ... but I can't drag and drop attach files or anything. I'll just try to be patient for the actual ZCS addon

Drag something to an attach file blank.

Question

YaY it's been released!!!! ... does anyone have it working?? It's just not doing anything for me

I installed the plugin, removed the defacto standard Firefox one, restarted (after deploying the zimlet on the server side) but drag and drop does nothing for me.

Well not entirely ... sometimes it opens the file I drag over. IE: I had an image file I tried dragging directly into a new message with no luck. Then I tried dragging it on to my briefcase with no luck. Then I tried clicking "New" in the dialog to add a file to the briefcase and it just popped up the image in the browser

Is there a config option or something else I need to enable?

Same here.

If you drap and drop on the top of window (arround the "subject" or "adresses" fields), it loads the image in the browser window.

Hmm
Is the addon disabled? Can you see the "Drag and Drop here" text in the compose window?

Zimlet is enabled and correctly setup in the CoS.
But I can't see any "Drag and Drop here"...

I've changed language (back to US), tried both in a new-window-compose or in-webui-compose, still nothing.
And I restarted mailboxd too.

I'm trying with french Firefox 3.0 b3

Not the zimlet, but the Firefox extension: go to Tools->Add-ons and see what it says

The extension is here and activated (1.0.0).
I tried with FF 2.0.11, it's the same.
