Default /var/log/ files safe to delete?

I have a bunch of gz files in the /var/log/ directory that have old dates.

Can I delete the following files safely?:
    mail-*.gz
    mail.info-*.gz
    messages-*.gz
    warn-*.gz

    TIA

Yes, you can delete them if you don't need them any more.
