Default Adding Contacts to a Shared Address Book problems

I just recently upgraded to 5.0, the upgrade went great. But now we have a problem adding contacts to a shared address book. We have one address book that holds all of the companies contacts, this address book is shared with every one.

When some one goes to add a new contact, they fill in the information select the proper address book and then click save. At this point all of the fields blank out and it just sits there. If you press cancel it will ask if you want to save. If you press yes it will blank out the fields again and sit there. If you press no it will go back to the address book.

I can add new contacts directly from the user that is sharing the contacts. I can also add contacts to other shared address books.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

After some more troubleshooting. I have found that you can create a contact and save it to your address book then open up the contact and change it to the shared address book, it will save it.

You can also save it in your own address book and drag it and make a copy to the shared address book. This surely is a bug however and needs to be fixed, I have to fight people to move away from Outlook and it's these little things that put people off.

Now we have some users that are unable to search the same shared contact list. I have to erase the share and re share it to make it searchable. It does the same thing just sits there. This is causing a lot of frustration with the users. Some official help would be appreciated. Maybe a status on the bug. I cant seem to find it in the bug database.

Don't have the same problem here but I know that if I enter a dot "." in the search box and choose either global address list or shared and personal... it finds all the contacts.

Hi mmorse

I posted it the first time but couldn't see it in the forum, that's why I was confused and tought there's something wrong with my browser.
So I sent it again. The second time I couldn't see it again.

Sorry for the triple post

:-)

No biggie, just protecting everyone from all the spam we get - you can read more about it here: Forum Spam & Security Update
Cuz junk/spam/ads relaying through the forums of a email collaboration company isn't ideal
