| | | How to backup user mail? In order to backup Zimbra,we only know to backup the whole Zimbra directories. We want to know if there is some other way to backup user’s mail only.If it can do so,we can import the user’s mail to the mail server(maybe this is new mail server),and the user’s mail will not be lost. But how can we make it?Can you give us some advice pls? |

| | | There's no backup 'tool' provided in the open source version, so it's a tricky question.
You can backup the entire /opt/zimbra folder, as you have seen, and that would equate to a 'full backup'. You can perform a sort of incremental by rsync'ing the /opt/zimbra to somewhere. So if you stop zimbra, rsync and restart, then only changed files will be copied. This is reasonably stable and you can script it easily so it's done each night, but I'd recommend a full refresh of the destination folder weekly to ensure that it stays 'good'. |

| | | If you use rdiff-backup instead of rsync (as Dirk just said), you'll be able to do incremental backups. |

Dirk, thanks you so much.
