    Default Populating the buddy list

Hi I'm using zimbra 5.0GA(open source) and i'm fiddling with the IM feature, witch seams to work great. There is one thing I'm having trouble with though, I'l like every user on a domain to be able to see all other users on that domain. By default you have to manually add each buddy to a usres list. Is there a way to automate this?

I would also like to know the answer to this question.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jason.

    Default I'll third that.

If it were possible to have the list autopopulate with all users in the same domain, a distribution list, etc., that would be amazing.

Jabber has a "Groups" functionality that I use on a different server that I administrate. Whenever I add a new user, I also add them to that group. The end result: all users share a buddy list through that group. Maybe that's how we do this? I don't know how to make a XMPP group in Zimbra, or join members to it, but that seems like the way I'd solve this problem.

I voted for it too. We currently use openfire on a different server just for this feature.

Vote placed. We also use an openfire server (runs under vmware very nicely).

I would move it's functions into zimbra as it's one less system to administer, but we do need the 'roster' function that currently allows us to group staff into departmental groups that are seen by all users. So a new member of staff can be given an account and right away they have access to all staff on their messaging client.

This functionality would make the zimbra IM more attractive.
