flow of message through ZCS

Can someone point me to a Zimbra document explaining how incoming messages flow from arriving to ZCS server to being delivered to user's mailbox?

I am trying to determine if there is any difference in message delivery between a message sent to a real domain account versus one sent to a domain alias account and delivered to a corresponding real domain account.

I have an end user complaining that there seems to be more spam coming in ever since a domain alias was added and so I want to see how spam filtering could have been affected by adding a domain alias.

Thanks for responding. Yes, I saw this article, it does list components and has a diagram of overall architecture but does not explain how message flows from one component to another from being received to being delivered to the mailbox.

I guess we're not sure on what you're asking then? that diagram shows everything as far as the message flow goes. If you're wondering about the actual communication between the processes, it uses the SMTP, LMTP, and SOAP protocols to communicate. More information on those can be found all over Google.

Let's see if I can state my question better. When a message arrives via SMTP from outside it is received by a component of Zimbra. I'd like to know which component (postfix?) receives it, where does it get sent next (calm av?) and where it goes after that. What is the sequence of processing an incoming email that finally leads to it's delivery to user's mailbox and whether there is any difference in this sequence between email sent to a real account in a real domain versus an email sent to an account that is a domain alias.
