Default Big Fubar on 5 FOSS GA Upgrade
Right, I tried upgrading from RC2 too GA this morning and it fell in a heap due to Scalar::Util not being compile with XS support. FYI this appears to be a problem in both RHEL4 and Centos RPMS so compiling from source with -xs is the fix.

Now down to my problem. I took a backup before upgrade but for some reason it appears to be trashed

Even though I have a broken installation I have backed up /opt to protect my message store. I have a feeling that the backed up config is broken, so is there any way to regenerate this ?

Whereabouts are all the backup configs held so I can check the timestamps on them ?

Can you provide a ls -l of your backup?

The things you'll need in your backup are:
/opt/zimbra/store
/opt/zimbra/db
/opt/zimbra/redolog
/opt/zimbra/openldap-data
/opt/zimbra/index

The files in /opt/zimbra/.saveconfig look okay aswell. The config.save file has all my settings in it eg. ldap_host but the localconfig.xml file in /opt/zimbra/conf looks pretty bare

As look hand it I reinstalled my server a couple of weeks ago to move away from Gentoo. And I copied the whole of /opt/zimbra to my laptop! So I have copied back across the localconfig.xml, checked the paths, and it was the RC2 version. I am now back where I can run the upgrade again. I have removed the alock as SLAPD fell over.

I *think* I have now fixed the Scalar issue by running :-

perl -MCPAN -e shell
force install Scalar::Util
so that XS support is compiled in. Here goes again !

Still failed so doing a force install on IO:Socket::SSL as Zimbra has a dependency in Compilation failed in require at /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/Net/LDAP.pm line 970

According to Bug 22466 - 20071204022445 build multinode install failure this should be fixed Very odd
