    Default Local delivery only

Hopefully I'm overlooking something. I need to be able to create a subdomain or COS that is restricted from sending mail outside of the ZCS server. So, essentially, the users can send messages to local users only -- including in other domains on the ZCS server.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I think this might be what I'm looking for, though the steps to get there are a little more complex than I was hoping for...

You're not overlooking anything; this feature is not simply available in 4.5.x although I believe it's being considered as an enhancement--search Bugzilla to be sure.

However, it occurs to me that what is usually a frustrating error in configuration could work to your advantage here: If you can put your internal-only users on a separate subnet from those that have outside access, then just make sure the IP range of that subnet is NOT in your allowed networks on the Admin, MTA configuration tab. By doing this, the mail relay will reject email addresses not in the domain that Zimbra hosts, but it'll still accept mail for the internal domains from everywhere.

This won't work if you have users with the different types of rights logging in from the same subnet or ip range, but if you can segregate them I see no reason why it would not do the trick.

Admittedly a kluge, but hey, I won't argue with success!

    Cheers,

    Dan

Be sure to vote on: Bug 5595 - per-domain send restriction (& even Bug 9620 - Mail policies and access control for sending to distribution lists)
    Make check boxes for:
-User can send email outside of their domain
-User can recieve mail from outside their domain

That is to say we don't want to overlook having a blank to enter what domains they can sent to/receive from (but those 2 checkboxes alone would solve 80% of people's questions).

Thanks for the links, I voted for those two enhancement requests.
