you can host official dns for one domain and unofficial dns for a different domain. with access control you could probably even host both for the same domain the point being that you can refuse outside queries for your internal zone info.

you can also register with sites that will do free secondary dns (i.e. use your server as a hidden master).

Thanks guys, sounds like you've armed me with the info to sort it out. I'm at a remote site where I don't have access to port 7071 for the web admin access, so I'll have to finish this off later. I really appreciate the help and look forward to showing zimbra to others.

And I can't wait till it gets debian friendly!

Boby, I'll have to check out bind a bit closer I suppose. I must admit I've only ever managed a dns server from a windows environment. Obviously I've got a bit to read up on.

Default main.cf

Those changes will probably be overwritten - it's best to use the admin console so they're retained.

Yep, don't I know it. To get it working I was stopping and starting using zmcontrol. I'm sure you can imagine how well that worked. I realised when I went back into the main.cf to see if I'd done a typo, and noticed they were gone. So I figured I'd enter them, do a postfix reload and then when I have access to the admin gui, I can make the change permanent.

Thanks for the tip though.

Now just cruising round the webmail interface. Well done guys, this is pretty cool.
