Default why shutdown zimbra services when dns server is temporarily down?

when dns server is down, zimbra stops and the whole system is stalled.zmcontrol status shows:
    antispam Stopped
    antivirus Stopped
    imapproxy Running
    ldap Stopped
    logger Running
    mailbox Stopped
    mta Stopped
    snmp Stopped
    spell Stopped
    stats Stopped
only logger and imapproxy is running.
User can not access using web client.

this is really not acceptable in case of temporay unstable internet connection, all users in the Lan can not read their mails.

    log files has been attached.

Although DNS is a good thing to have, it is absolutely not required for Zimbra services to keep functioning.

All that you need is a hosts file that's correct. Albeit, it may not send and receive, the server will keep working.

    Let's see some logs.

Postfix requires DNS to be able to do a lookup and deliver your mail. You should install a backup DNS server.

100% agreed. However, it looks like mysql and tomcat died. It shouldn't do that.

We really do need to see the logs. I'm moving this to the administrator's forum.

I can see the error logs in mailbox.log,Can I paste it here?

BTW,I use ZCS 5.0 RC2,Zimbra runs happily during the day,But when I try to access zimbra the second morning, all Zimbra services were gone.

At First I suspected that it maybe something wrong with my configuration, and try to figure out through a lot of stacktrace.xxx in /opt/zimbra/logs/,but all to no avail.

Today I had a test ,that is : intentionally shutdown the DNS server, and try to access zimbra in a few minutes,And zimbra was gone.

Don't paste. Attach as an attachment to this thread.

Crashing the server isn't really a good idea. You may (unintentionally) be the cause of the situation that you're in.

Let's see zmmailbox.out mailbox.log and your hosts file.

What version of ZCS are you using? There was a bug fixed in the last couple of versions that sounds very similar to this. The log you'll probably want to look at is /opt/zimbra/log/zmmtaconfig.log
