Default Best way to move messages

Looking ahead to a new year, and wondering-
(ZCS OS )
A user has many thousands of email in "Sent"...Would it be better to make him a new Sent folder to hold "2007" history, or leave this year's messages in the main Sent folder?

He has already put 7.000 Sent msgs from year 2006 into a 2006 folder...
Would it be better to move these back into current folder?
If so, how best to move these back (not 100 at a time...)?

Easiest way to move insanely large quantities of messages is to log in using an IMAP client--Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or your other favorite--and drag-and-drop them from the client.

If you're not short of space, why not just leave them in the sent folder? By moving them out you are breaking the 'threading' of messages.

Bill, this is what I'm seeing.
As "Sent", in a subfolder...the messages only show who sent them (this user), instead of who this user Sent the messages "To".
Kind of dumb.
I think I may see if User wants them moved back into current Sent folder.
This is Pres and CEO, of the company, so I have to be a little careful.
Plus -- he was the last holdout to leave Outlook, so he is the Head Skeptic, too.
thanks.
rick
(the IMAP idea makes the most sense)

That was Bug 11729 - Subfolders in Sent show "From" column instead of "to" & Bug 9591 - "Sent Mail" subfolders shows "From" filed instead "To" in web client
Already solved, you can test in the 5RC2 Hosted Demo
However in 5RC2 you temporarily can't sort by the To: column (like you can in 4.5.10) - see Bug 12734 - Message view + in:sent To column header allows sort & Bug 6830 - sorting Sent folder by To column sorts wrong

I saw that coming in ver5! (I need to get rid of my fedora core5, and get up to Ubuntu 6x LTS, or RHEL...to use ZCS 5,I think).
But thanks for the help.
Big thanks.
