Default External LDAP setup

I am setting up an external LDAP server and was wondering if there is a way to export all of the ldap accounts in Zimbra and import them into the external LDAP server so I wouldn't have to set up all users on the external LDAP server by hand ?

Thanks,
ms

What kind of ldap server are you using?

Does your ldap server have a command line interface that you know the syntax of?

When you post you need to give more information.

One issue that I don't know how to resolve would be the synching of passwords.

The first thing you need to do is get familiar with the command line options that openldap provides you, particularly with those of creating new accounts.

Secondly you need to figure out what Information you want to port. I used the Softerra LDAP browser to get familiar with the structure of the zimbra ldap tree.

Lastly you just need to create a script using whatever language you are familiar with to grab all the info out of the zimbra LDAP and format it into OpenLDAP commands.

Were you able to take care of this issue? I have some PHP script I have written to do something similar if that helps.
