Default Testing 5.0RC2 - How To Enable Instant Messaging?

I've got a test server running 5.0RC2 and would like to experiment with the instant messaging feature. For some reason I cannot get it to add any buddies, and I do not see a way to set it up to communicate with MSN/AOL/etc.

Are there configuration changes that need to be made to get this stuff to work? I've looked through the docs folder and there's nothing there about it.

Help?

Thanks,
Matt

IM is already enabled but as it's still beta you may have hit a bug. Is this a clean install of RC2 or an upgrade of something earlier release?

The original install was 5.0 Beta3, upgraded to RC1, and now upgraded to RC2.

So I was wondering if there just isn't some config file missing because I did an upgrade from earlier versions?

The IM tab shows up, but I can't add any buddies and there's no options available to add MSN or AOL connections...which I do see when I log into Zimbra's live demo of RC2.

Thanks,
Matt

I assume it's the Open Source version you're using as you've upgraded fro beta3? It shouldn't make any difference whether you've upgraded or just done a clean install, it should be enabled. The IM does work in RC2, I use it.

After a cursory glance at bugzilla I can't see anything relating to your description and the hosted demo is pretty much the same as the released RC2. I'd suggest filing a bug report, that's why it's still beta and we need these to fix any problems.

Guess I should clarify too...

I upgraded from Beta3 OSS to RC1 OSS, but now I moved to RC2 NE. Maybe that is the issue?

I guess I could try a clean install....there's no data that needs kept, I'd just have to regenerate some test accounts.

Ah yes, that might be a slight hiccup - that's not the recommended procedure for upgrading OSS to NE, you need a clean install of NE then copy your data over. See if it's any different with a clean NE install.

Same question, I guess - clean install or upgrade? Either way it should be filed as a bug.
