Default new mail filter locks UI in build 436

    in the 436 build:

if you right click an address and choose new filter then choose file into folder, the buttons and fields get rendered outside the dialog and become unusable. You kind of have to see it to know what I mean.

when you try to save a new mail filter created in the above fashion, it errors with "something is wrong with your values".

when you click new filter from the "mail filters" tab, the UI freezes in both firefox and IE

There are various javascript errors during the whole process.

    Default filters

We've seen the weird dialog rendering on "file into folder" but I'm not seeing the freeze on "new filter" - though it's possible that's caused by the previous error (corrupted dialog refusing to display).

Can you do a ctl-reload in IE and try the new filter action, see if the freeze happens again?

    Default

After restarting both the server and my client system (for something unrelated to this), I'm unable to reproduce the lock up... I'm still unable to create any mail filters though because it always says there was a problem parsing the rules. this is true if I right click on an address and choose new filter or if I choose new filter from the mail filters tab. The filters I created during the 381 release seem to be working however.

    Default filter creation

You may have a corrupt filter that the UI is having trouble parsing. On the command line:
zmprov ga <account name> will list everything on the account, including filters. You can delete the filters on the command line, and then try recreating in the UI.

I looked at the sieve scripts using "zmprov ga" and they look ok as far as I can tell... the existing ones are working anyway, I'm just not able to create new ones...

I was going to delete the filters from the command line anyway, but --help on zmprov (which is what I assume you use) doesn't really give information on how to do that...

    Default zmprov

    zmprov ma <account> zimbraMailSieveScript ""
    should do it.

    Default Related Issue

This is a related corruption issue that occurs when I give a filter a name and select "To" as the field to search. After clicking in that field the filter dialog explodes as shown. The second picture is the error that IE reports. Corruption occurs in IE 6 and FF 1.0.7 under the following Zimbra environment:

    "Release 3.0.0_M3_436.RHEL4_20060106154745" on
    CentOS 4.1 (Kernel 2.6.12-1.381_FC3)

Have cleared cache on both browsers and tested on accounts that have no existing rules.

    Thanks,
    Will

    Default Workaround

As an addendum to my previous post, this occurs in FF1.5 also.

    I have found a work-around however:
    1) Start a new filter
    2) Press the "+" sign next to the first critera box, showing a second box
    3) Setup the filter critera and action as normal
    4) Use the "-" sign to remove the extra critera box (assuming filtering on one critera.

    Hope this helps.

It's been fixed. It was bug 5287 and happened to (as wdimmit found) only the first condition/action. Turned out to be a bad index used for adding a row to a table in the DOM.
