Default Upgrade OS or Zimbra first

We need to upgrade both our OS and Zimbra. Currently running RHEL 4.5 and Zimbra NE 4.5.6. Should we upgrade the OS first or Zimbra to 4.5.9 and then the OS. By the way, this is a single server cluster.

If this is a RHCS cluster, you'd rather first check RHCS is stable before upgrading : I lost 2 days during last setup because RedHat was in the process of pushing RHCS updates to the RHN and the different programs versions (cman, rmanager, etc) did not match.

About your question it's easier to downgrade the OS than Zimbra.
And it's quite easy (working each time for me) to upgrade Zimbra.
While upgrading the OS can be touchy.

Default upgrade

Thanks for the reply.

This is a RHCS. I too have had some problems with the cluster software. My understanding is that RHEL 5 will be more stable.

"RHCS 5" (RHCS on RHEL 5) is not (yet) supported by Zimbra.
