So your zimbraMailTrash/SpamLifetime is how you want it then, now re-read all references in this thread to zimbraMailPurgeSleepInterval.

To set:
zmprov ms server.domain.com zimbraMailPurgeSleepInterval 1m

Easier question: How many users does your system have?
The new default is 1m (capable of purging at least approx 1440 accounts a day).
1h is fine for smaller setups.
If you we're the only account on the system then setting it to 1d would do what you want

Ah okay

So when I set:
'zmprov ms server.domain.com zimbraMailPurgeSleepInterval 1m'
Than everything wille be okay
I am running on this server c.a 990 users on this moment but it is growing.
So I will set it on 1m.

Ok - thanks to this thread I ran:

zmprov gc default | grep Lifetime

Which shows:

zimbraMailMessageLifetime: 7d

My understanding is I am saying with that line no mail over 7 days.

I then ran:

zmprov ms zimbra.private.amscotfinancial.com zimbraMailPurgeSleepInterval 1m

My understanding is every minute it tries to honor the 7d rule from above.

Do I have that correct? I ran this a few minutes ago and was curious if I had it right and how long it would take to notice.

Thanks,
Bruce
