The solution -for those finding this later- is that after Bug 15161 - add a 'recursive' option for REST .zip fetch you will be able to Inbox.zip?recursive=1 or Inbox?fmt=zip&recursive=1

And you can checkout an excellent zimlet being developed (final stages of tweaking) that already handles subfolders using another method: http://www.zimbra.com/forums/adminis...end-users.html

There's also one or two ideas in bugzilla about either an export page in preferences (like is done with the contacts & cal) or just on on the right click of a folder etc, etc.
