    Default [SOLVED] username@domian.tld login

We have been using zimbra 5 rc1 and up until yesterday, when someone logged in using the web client or any email client (like T-Bird), we could use username/password. Yesterday, email stopped working and we had to reinstall. Now, all users have to enter username@domain.tld/password both in the web client and any email client (like T-Bird). Can someone explain how to get back to using username/password instead of username@domain.tld/password?

You should set domain.tld as the default domain, that will allow users to login with just their username (which I guess is what you want).

Hey again, Bill! In the zimbra admin, i have 4 domians, one is the hostname.domian.tld as was setup during the install by default. The domian.tld is set to "default" under Default Class of Service. The hostname.domain.tld is left blank at Default Class of Service. Still we have to enter username@domain.tld to login. Is there a way to set this there zmprov or some other command? Thanks for the help

You set the default domain with the following:

    Code:
    zmprov mcf zimbraDefaultDomain yourdomain.com

This is the error i get when running that command under zimbra login:
ERROR: account.INVALID_ATTR_NAME (invalid attr name: [LDAP: error code 17 - zimbraDefaultDomain: attribute type undefined])

Probably because Bill should have said zimbraDefaultDomainName
    Code:
    zmprov mcf zimbraDefaultDomainName domain.com
No biggie, we have a lot of other stuff to keep track of & we're not infallible

Yes, that worked but now i am not able to login as admin at the admin UI. I get authentication failed. Tried admin and admin@domain.tld. I was able to login as admin before using admin. I know there is a way to get the zimbra ldap password using zmlocalconfig -s |grep ldap_root_password. How can i get the password for admin or change it?

That doesn't switch over the admin account to your new domain, are you typing in the admin@priordomain.com?

    Test with a new one:
zmprov ca testadmin@domain.com password zimbraIsAdminAccount TRUE

What happens if you revert the default domain? Can you login?

If you wanted to change the password:
    zmprov sp admin@domain.com password
