Turns out when I found the Bonded Sender Program a few weeks back I was only scratching the surface. There are several commercial entities (three that I found) who have subscription services for email marketers, and that have convinced SpamAssassin to include them as whitelist providers, plus a fourth non-commercial one.
I'm not interested in a flame war over whether these lists are "good guys" or "bad guys," and in fact I suspect there are legitimate administrators on this forum who would come out in both camps. I do, however, believe you should know what's working for you or against you in your war against spam.
I have therefore updated the
spam wiki article to include a section on "Externally-maintained whitelists" in the hopes that it'll help you know your system more fully. In addition to the Bonded Sender Program, I have included Habeas, ISPPP/SuretyMail, and DNSWL.
Happy hunting,
Dan
