Error adding account

Hi guys,

I have just installed Release 4.5.7_GA_1319.SuSE10_20070914153300 SuSEES10 NETWORK edition on a SLES10 SP1 server.

I know that SLES10 is not officially support by 4.5 but I managed to install it fine.
When I go into the admin console and try to add an account I get the following License error.

"Message: invalid license
Error code: service.LICENSE_ERROR
Method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
Details:soap:Receiver"

I am running on trial license and at the bottom of the screen it says that it will expire in 23 days time.

Has anyone seen the above error or experienced something similar.

It's not even unofficially supported either. The reason we have a list of supported operating systems is that we have tested them and know Zimbra works on them, we also avoid problems like this. I'd suggest you install Zimbra on a supported system and register for support, that way you'll be able to get help resolving your problems.

This could be one of several problems. You say the install went OK, did you check the install logs for any errors and are all the zimbra services running? Have you actually added the licence to the ZImbra server?

We wanted to install SLES 9 but it wouldnt install onto the new server that we have.

During the install I had DNS and MX record problem which I fixed. I then had a permission problem on the /etc/sudoers file which I fixed.

Here are the running services

I have added the trial license to the server, it asked for the license during the install and says it has 23 days left.

I have just done a grep on the install log and showed these errors. I have reinstalled quite a few times on this server.

Did you resolve the DNS problem for that server? You can check that by running:

host `hostname`
dig manline.co.za any
dig manline.co.za mx

I assume they all come back with valid results?


Does running 'zmlicense --check' show a valid licence?

If you use this command:

host `hostname`  <-- backticks not single quotes

'as is' it will also check your hosts file is correct.

Is there any type of debug command I can run. Or perhaps watch a log file as I restart Zimbra?

Hi Bill,

I have resolved this problem. I reinstalled with the later, 4.5.9 version.
There might have also been an issue with the domain as when I reinstalled it still gave me the MX record problem but it was trying to lookup on the domain mail.manline.co.za, the domain is just manline.co.za

Ya, you can either continue and add a new domain later after install or rename it right there.

Yea it all seems to be working.
The only thing that isnt working is the monitoring page, it says that I need to install the logging services, but they are installed and are running if I do a zmcontrol status.

Im sure this is probably just something that needs tweaking. Im using the Suse10 installer but Im running it on SLES10 SP1.
