Allow http for a couple of users

I suppose this is a dumb question, but why would you want a few to not use https? To me it would seem you'd want encrypted connections to minimize the likelihood of revealing passwords and other sensitive data in the data stream, were it to be packet sniffed.

In any case, I believe enabling non-secure vs. secure login is a server-wide switch, not doable for individual users.

Dan is right- you can't do it per user.

If you want to change it for all, then
su - zimbra
zmtlsctl http
if rc1, then zmmailboxdctl restart
if 4.5, then tomcat restart

The reason behind this was to send emails to a terminal that displays the scheduling of the rooms at our company. Someone schedules a meeting and a email is send showing the title and owner of the meeting.

That should still be possible with https, I would think. Just create an account with a password that you put on a sticky label on the monitor. . .or even go to the "advanced" tab and change the password settings for that one user to only one character (I tested, you can't make it zero characters).

It might actually be easier to set up something like Thunderbird (or Sunbird to use the calendar) to connect via IMAP to your server; might make more of a walk-up display option. If you set up a shared calendar on your system for "Meetings," and then have Sunbird display that calendar in read-only mode, I would think that might address your functional need. . .
