Default postfix won't accept connections on port 25

I've installed Zimbra FC4 on FC4 on a machine that sits behind a firewall.
I can relay email outside. I can send/receive email on my "inside" class C LAN.
I can forward "outside" smtp traffic through the firewall to "zimbra" machine, but
postfix rejects the connections. The machine is multihomed (2 different IPs).

    Questions:

    1) /var/log/zimba doesn't log unsuccessful smtp requests (?). How do I "up" the logging?

    2) The admin guide says don't change main.cf directly, but not all postfix commands are
available through the UI. How can I edit main.cf directly?

Suggestion: add the zimbra version number and the component version numbers to the web console. Make it easier to ask questions.

Nice work on the product. Good luck in the marketplace.

You can get the version from the admin console. Click on the left ? (Help) link and there is an 'About Zimbra Version' button that will display a version like:

    "Version 3.0.0_M3_374.RHEL4 Dec 27, 2005"

    1) Is there anything at all in the log? Are you sure the traffic is getting to postfix?

    2) /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf
Any edits will be over written on upgrades.

    Default port 25 woes

    Version: Version 3.0.0_M2_746.FC4 Nov 16, 2005

Good that I can cut and paste it

I have expansive logging for local (inside the firewall) traffic.

I'm pretty sure the zimbra box is getting forwarded traffic because I've
seen it with ethereal and the firewall logs the forward. But I could be
    wrong.

Do upgrades mean "new versions of zimbra"? Or when I save a config
change in the admin UI? I notice that if I set something in the admin UI
and then unset it, the unset doesn't take things out of main.cf. Perhaps
    that's the problem?

    Thanks.

Some settings require a restart to take effect. Have you been restarting?

    Default yes, restarting

    /sbin/service zimbra restart

I'll keep looking at this. Thanks.

    Default restarting zimbra

You might have better luck with zmcontrol stop, zmcontrol start
