newbie question: weekly backup

i am reading

as far as i can understand, to get full backup every sunday and inc 1-6, but to keep only 1 week and not to delete 1 month older, i have to do:

f 0 1 * * 0
i 0 1 * * 1-6
d 1 w 0 0 * * 0

on sunday at midnight it deletes all the past week backups (f and i) and do a full, starting a new week backups

just to be sure to be right

Hi Maurizio,

you should make sure to always have a full backup for the incs to start from. So make sure that you delete the last weeks full after finishing the new one!
I would even prefer to have 2 full backups if possible.
Here is our schedule:
d 8d 0 0 * * *
f 0 1 * * 6
i 0 1 * * 0-5
So you are sure that there is always one full backup (two fulls for one day after the new full was made) available.
I would keep it longer but as all backups are moved to tape anyways I can recover from any backup for up to a month.
