Forwarding email to spam training account...

Can I have users that have pop3 clients forward spam they get to the spam training account to train the system? Someone elsewhere in the forums mentioned they thought that wasn't a good thing to do since it added the forwarder's address to the spam database. Is that correct?

Also, if I also gave the pop user IMAP access to his Junk folder, does simply moving a spam to the junk folder help with training?

You can forward mail to the Spam training account as an attachment, it doesn't work if you just forward the email.

If you use IMAP then you just need to hit the Junk button to get the mail in the Junk box and train Zimbra.

If you have a user that just drags to junk you can run zmtrainsa periodically to train that folder CLI zmtrainsa - ZimbraWiki

Ok so if a POP user, for example using Outlook Express or something - don't ask, the choice of email client is not my decision - anyway, if I have him forward a spam as an attachment to the spam training account it will train SA correctly and NOT train it to start thinking the guy who's doing the forwarding is a spammer, right?

I hope this goes without saying, but as I understand it the answer is "true, as long as it's a POP account on your own Zimbra server."

I'm not over-assuming, am I, if I believe POP users from outside (i.e. domains not hosted on the Zimbra server) don't enjoy the same trust by the spam/ham training addresses. Is this correct?

Well, in my case the POP account would be on my Zimbra server, so if that's true, that would work well enough for me.
