I have some users setup on Zimbra OS. All of them are in the format of DEPT_USERNAME@MYDOMAIN. Now, I also want them to receive emails sent to USERNAME_DEPT@MYDOMAIN and USERNAME.DEPT@MYDOMAIN both of which are legacy addresses which may still get the odd email. I've set these last two up as aliases for each user.

When I send a test message to USERNAME_DEPT or USERNAME.DEPT I get the following NDR

I'm afraid I had problems forwarding your message. Full details follow:

1 error(s):

SMTP Server <webmail.g2support.com> rejected recipient <DEPT_USERNAME@MYDOMAIN.com> (Error following RCPT command). It responded as follows: [550 <DEPT_USERNAME@MYDOMAIN.com>: Recipient address rejected: MYDOMAIN.com]

Now, sending to the zimbra username default email (ie in our case DEPT_USERNAME or eg SALES_JOHNH or ACCOUNTS_PETERG) works fine, but no aliases seem to work at all.

Other than the Aliases tab for each user, is there anything else that needs to be done to get aliases setup and accepted on Zimbra ?
