Default share calendar, address book using canonical address

Hello,

In our school, we have accounts stored in a ldap server, using 'uid' field accross all the systems to authenticate users.

In zimbra (v4.5.4), we therefore have 2 addresses per user :
  • uid@ourdomain
  • forename.surname@ourdomain
As uid can be something like 03asy01021, we mainly use the latter form.

Problem arise when sharing through zimbra as only uid@ourdomain is permitted.

Is this something already listed in the bug database ?

Regards,

Default Using canonical address for calendar appointments

Hi,

I'm having a similar request. We are hosting individual users on Zimbra. We give users an address of username@domain.com. Now, many times our users want outgoing mail to come from user@company.com, so we set their canonical address to user@company.com. However, when creating a calendar appointment and inviting others to that meeting, it sends out from the username@domain.com, not the canonical address user@company.com.

Is there anyway to make Zimbra send out appointment invites using the canonical address?

Thanks!

Default Back to the subject

This seems to be an old thread and is not marked as SOLVED.

Can I safely assume this feature is not available yet? I just came across this issue during our Zimbra Pilot and that looks like a big negative point.

I think the main bug for this issue is this one.
