Default attach/assign edit rights to distribution lists?

We have reports that go out to certain users in our company that are hardcoded in the script. What would be cool is if we could delegate edit/admin rights to the programmer, but not give them full admin rights to zimbra itself.

I don't think this is currently possible -- is there already a bug or feature request for this? I tried searching bugzilla but couldn't find a match.

Those bugs seem to deal with mailman integration. What I'm talking about is extending what's currently there with the "distribution lists" or aliases.

For example, say we have an alias (distribution list) called marketing-reports@blah.com. It would be cool to allow someone other than the main zimbra admin, the rights to add/remove emails that should be on that list.

Without looking at it in great detail, I'm pretty sure I can hack something on my own - I'm wondering if maybe I overlooked something that already exists.

The first bug was for the ability to have distribution list moderators (ie add/remove abilities)

That got incorporated into the mailman RFE -which is the bug for the serious distribution list overhaul (mailman being the suggested product to integrate)

NE has domain admins that can only create and maintain accounts, aliases, distribution lists, and calendar resources in a specific domain.
(If it's still a little too much abilities/powers for your liking, more delegated auth control functionality is slowly being added.)

You could build a web-interface that had permissions to soap calls the back end (obviously your trying to hide your login)
or a shell that would only allow some basic commands-
    To get all the lists:
    zmprov gadl
or just those in a domain:
    zmprov gadl domain.com

    zmprov gdlm list@domain.com

    to see the members:
    zmprov gdl list@domain.com

    to add a member:
    zmprov adlm list@domain.com user@domain.com

    to remove a member:
    zmprov rdlm list@domain.com user@domain.com

    to create a list:
    zmprov cdl newlist@domain.com

    to delete a list:
    zmprov ddl deletethislist@domain.com

    rename list:
    zmprov rdl list@domain.com newlistname@domain.com

    add list alias:
    zmprov adla list@domain.com newalias@domain.com

    remove list alias:
    zmprov rdla list@domain.com aliastoremove@domain.com
