Default [SOLVED] Zimbra connectors COS setting

Hello,

For a certain COS, I want to disable all external connectors, but I can't find the exact option to do this? Can anybody explain how/where this can be done?

We run ZCS 4.5.7 on an Ubuntu system.

Thx,
Wonko

Hello & welcome.

By "external connectors" you mean the ability for the users to get their emails by POP3 and/or IMAP4 ?

Both are settable in the second tab of the CoS (in the Admin WebUI), you have a check box for each one.

Uncheck the check boxes and the users of this CoS won't be allowed to use POP3 and/or IMAP4 to get their emails.

No, I'm referring to the Apple Sync connector or the Outlook connector.

Your profile does not show what version you are running, I thought it was the OSE, sorry.

AFAIK, there's currently no way to stop a user from using the iSync connector or Outlook Connector beside not giving them access to the connector (to download and setup) : there's no such checkbox in the CoS tabs (while there's one for Mobile, POP3 and IMAP4).

There's a RFE in the bugzilla : Bug 20513 - Create COS for standard user vs professional user.

Okay, thx for the info, I'll be following that bug report.

We have the same problem, I can't make "standard" users, so each user would be a "professional", which has a different pricing.

Is this functionality in the pipeline? If I buy 25 Standard licences and 25 Pro licences, how do I differentiate between them? How do I prevent a user from using the connector functionality, which should be billed at a different rate?

Sorry, I've hunted around a bit here and in the manuals, but I'm not finding an answer.

Thanks,
adam
