Default merging multiserver installation.

hello,
my first installation of zimbra was multiserver:
ldap+mta
after some time i want to merge this two servers. and also upgrade my hardware, os and
zimbra software.

my scenario is:
ldap: old HP machine, centos 4, zimbra 4.0.3_GA_406.RHEL4
mta: old HP machine, centos 4, zimbra 4.0.3_GA_406.RHEL4

and i want to do this:
ALL:new HP machine, centos 5, zimbra 4.5.x

Questions:
1-how can i merge multi-server to one server?
2-have anybody any suggestion to this migration+merging?

thank you.

Settings for the MTA are located in the Zimbra administration panel. All you should have to do is change the address of the MTA.

I think that your bigger issue should be how to move it.

my steps in this scenario is:
1- merge ldap to mta installation (maybe installing ldap section at mta machine and moving data from old place to it and make changes to mta config)
2- moving hard disks from this machine to new machines
3- upgrade OS
4- upgrade zimbra

is there any hints about merging ldap to mta installation?

Welcome to the forums,

Moderated: 2 posts moved here -previously in /forums/administrators/11623-can-t-start-zimbra.html
While both have ldap start errors -you have the 'combining' stuff as well- let's not confuse the other thread.

Notes: - The only content in that other thread:

I'll bet you money that your mysql password got out of sync.
Take a look here:

and if you need any help resetting them, let us know.
