The Zimbra documentation talks about support for 'Native replication/disaster recovery (WAN optimized)'.

My question is: Does this just refer to the RHEL GFS solution? There is no documentation on how to set this up other than a few sentences stating that this feature is available.

OR is it just assumed that a custom setup of DRBD and Heartbeat will be used?

Coming from a Lotus Domino background where mailbox replication is a key feature, it would be very competitive to have a similiar capability in Zimbra which is simple to implement.

Any help much appreciated!

Nothing like a catch all term-lol

First you have the ldap replicas. /docs/ne/latest/multi_server_install/LDAP Replication.6.1.html

For the network edition, clustering is provided for the mailstores using RHEL & RHCS +SAN & a fencing device.

Yep DRBD & Heartbeat is a common failover solution used by OS edition users, (I see you've already seen a bit about it from another of your posts - /forums/administrators/2845-zimbra-drbd.html) but it can certainly be used in NE setups as well. (Of course support is trained on RHCS so it may take them a little longer to help you out if your having trouble with it.

The architecture required for RHCS is not an option at this stage, so we'll research the DRBD / Heartbeat option.
