Default Web disk feature

This might have been answered partially on other threads, but I feel like asking for clarification...

I have been running a private webmail service for many years using OpenWebMail - it works great even though it isn't fancy like Zimbra and hasn't been maintained recently.

I'm in the process of migrating things to Zimbra, which I think is a fantastic product.

My question is: is there a similar feature as the "webdisk" found in OpenWebMail?
This allowed two things:
- Manage files on each user's directory on the server, e.g. upload and download.
- Attach files on the web client directly from the user's directory.

Checking Zimbra, I have experimented with the "Documents" features. It is nice but isn't doing what I need.

I have also looked at the possibility of using WebDAV for this but I don't see that integrated in Zimbra's web client. Am I missing something?

Thanks for any comments

I see your running v5b3 -briefcase isn't what your looking for? /blog/archives/2007/08/zimbra_briefcase_1.html

-better WebDAV support is also a v5 thing (/forums/administrators/11171-webdav-briefcase.html#post58137)

(and shared mail folders so people don't have to do my old rss feed workaround /blog/archives/2007/08/shared_folders.html)

EDIT: so did you just change your version string?
it now reads: Release 4.5.6_GA_1044.DEBIAN3.1 DEBIAN3.1 FOSS edition
I swore it just read v5 BETA 3
+ it shows your 'Viewing User Control Panel'
heck you even have a thread: /forums/administrators/11232-zimbra-5-0-beta-any-debian-build.html

-of course my eyesight could be going; but I would hope not to that degree so soon!

Default Briefcase, indeed

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried 5b3 yesterday but it seemed buggy (mailbox and statistics never worked). I therefore removed it and went back to the stable version.

Maybe I should go back to 5b3 then... and try to fix those problems.

good to know I wasn't crazy

Ya the mailbox service not starting up is kinda a biggie (stats I could live without)

but if this is your production setup, I'd suggest sticking with 4.5.x then upgrading when the GA comes out (or if you want, try the RC's when their available).
