Default Zimbra 5.0 BETA - any Debian build?

    Hi,
I saw on sourceforge that there are no Debian-specific build for Zimbra 5.0 beta2. Is it possible to use the Ubuntu build instead? Any caveat?

Yes, the ubuntu build works perfectly on Debian 4.0 - try the sticky thread at top of install forum, if you have any problems just ask and I'll help. Don't bother with 3.x/Sarge, it has 'issues' and is unlikely to work. Ubuntu6 and Debian4 are closely related. There is a Debian build earmarked for 5.0 although we're yet to see it.

Yes, use the build on the Operating System it was built for.
    Sigh

Thanks dijichi2 for your answer, considerably more helpful than the Zimbra employee's answer.

I guess your sense of humour was a bit lacking today?
