Default [SOLVED] /opt/zimbra without atime?

Do any Zimbra daemons rely on atime?

It would be nice if I could boost performance by mounting /opt/zimbra with the noatime flag. Or should this be done only on the spool/tmp subdirs for amavis etc.?

No, it doesn't rely on atime - I always mount my file systems with noatime.

Default noatime vs relatime

I was checking the forum for the new default /etc/fstab option in Ubuntu 8.04 and I found this old thread so I prefer to reply here.

From your answer I infer that Zimbra is not affected by atime. So I just switched it off on my /opt mounts. What about the "new" relatime option? For a discussion see Once upon atime [LWN.net]

It's not necessary to have atime on the files (and by implication relatime), Zimbra does not use and IIRC very few applications need it. You will find performance gains by specifying noatime, details have recently been updated in the wiki article on Performance Tuning.
