    Smile Auto add @xxx.com

Is there anyway to set an auto appending domain name. All of our accounts end with xxx@thisname.com. When we send a mail to just xxx it will not go through, we have to add xxx@thisname.com without the @thisname.com the email will not go through.

My question is, is there anyway to autoappend a domain name to every email that does not have one?

    example,

    Turn

    Jeffsmith

    into

    Jeffsmith@thisname.com

    Thanks for your help!

    46 views and no responses?

I find it hard to believe that no one else is having this issue. Am I asking a stupid question?

The Zimbra web client requires full e-mail addresses, because it parses that way.

Are you able to use the Global Address book for Autocomplete?

    Sincerely,

So you are confirming that even on the backend there is no way to add an auto attached domain name for the webmail client?

I am talking about via email clients. No matter what client im using the server should auto append any email with no @xxx.com with my predetermined one.... is there no way to do this?

As far as I know, there is no way to have it default to a domain.

We use postfix, so you may want to see if there's a hack out there for postfix. . but even then, the ZWC will probably kick it out.

You can file an enhancement if you want.

random stuff-that I have never tried any of these with zimbra...but it kinda sounds like what we're looking for here...

All of this stuff is intended if you only host one domain:

myorgin-It appends the domain to any unqualified recipient address that is considered 'local'

append_at_myorigin- With locally submitted mail, append the string "@$myorigin" to mail addresses without domain information.

append_dot_mydomain -With locally submitted mail, append the string ".$mydomain" to addresses that have no ".domain" information.

myorigin = $mydomain (you could also set it to $myhostname which will be the entire string but I don't think that's what you want to do)

What will be considered like your sending to inter-domain users; ie locations that it will consider adding the domain to:
mydestination (defaults are $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost)

You would probably have to turn off reject_non_fqdn_sender, and make sure you set trusted_networks, least reject_unknown_sender_domain hurt it. (might have to turn this all the way off as well)

For remotely submitted mail, append the string "@$remote_header_rewrite_domain" instead.

I'm going to talk with my sysadmin and see if this is something he can implement.

Can anyone confirm that these changes will effect Zimbra?

Did you ever file an RFE in bugzilla? (I don't see any "auto append domain to username" one's)
