Many duplicate folders in T-Bird

Using OS zimbra 5 beta 2 on SLES10. When users subscribe to folders they will see multiple folders under their inbox. Example-2 sent folders, 2 junk folders and any time you make a sub-folder under the inbox, you will also see 2 different listings of those folders. I have attached a png for view. Look under inbox->mailing lists and you will see the folders. Then look under the trash icon and you will see the folders again. How do we correct this? We use thunderbird 2, we do not use outlook.
