Zimbra Performance Issues

Hi All,

I have a problem with Zimbra really dragging on this machine. Most of this time it sits there dragging the cpu down with a lot of wasted cycles.

Any ideas where the issue may lie? The hard drive has over 60gig of space and performs fine with a dd test.

This is Zimbra 5.0 Beta 2 running on CentOS 5.

This is a production machine with only 512MB or RAM? If so, that's way below the recommended amount.

Performance would also depend on how many user, type of HD (scsi, IDE , RAID etc.) and the more memory you give it the better it will run.

That was indeed the problem. Just a lot of caching to disk going on - with 2.5gig of ram it's performing well.
