Default uninstall zmlogger

I'm suffering from the same issues with zmlogprocess and mysql consuming large amounts of cpu that is described in this post:

Zmlogger and CPU Spikes

A couple of questions:

1) This is a two-box install. I screwed up when I originally installed this environment and installed the 'logger' on both boxes. After reading the multi-box install guide, it appears it should only be installed on one server, namely the first mailbox server. My first question is, is there a clean way to unnstall 'logger' on my mta box?

2) The post above suggests clearing out /opt/zimbra/logger/db and rerunning zmloggerinit. While I'd like to clear this issue, I'd also kind of like to keep my historical data. Do I need to bite the bullet and do a clean init to clear the issue?
