Distribution list alias via UI?

I'm an admin that only has access to the UI (remote location). Is there any way to add an alias for a distribution list via the UI?

If not, would it work if I created a new user with the list alias address and forwarded it to the list address?

How about create an additional distribution list, then make the original list the only member? That should do it. You can also hide one or the other (or both) of them from the GAL if that helps keep things straight.
