Should I rather install Zimbra to live IP or behind NAT?

Hi. I am new to Zimbra and preparing the installation.

I am running ISPConfig and would like to offer Zimbra to current hosting domains. I still have no clear idea how to implement it because I am new to Zimbra and don't know yet how it works.

Is it better to install Zimbra with Live IP or is it better to put the server behind NAT (what about if I want to later do the multiple server install)? Does it have any impact on Zimbra servises?

I would also appreciate if someone would tell me some tips or what should I be aware of. I am planing to use the Comercial Version after Trial period.

It makes no difference to ZImbra whether you are behind NAT or on a direct IP.The only difference you would find is the need for a local DNS server on your LAN if you are behind NAT and you'd obviously need to forward ports in the router.

Oh, I forgot to ask - what's ISPConfig? If that's a configurtaion panle for your hosting service you may have problems installing ZImbra if it installs in it's own web server etc.

What about from the aspect of multiple servers? If my customer base will grow in the future and I will have to balance the load on more servers? What is recomended? Behind NAT? What do other companies do?

There's still no problem behind NAT for multiple servers. Have you looked at the documentation here - that has details of a multi-server install.
