I've got almost 500 running on my server right now...
Should I be worried?
Thanks!

Convertd handles attachment conversion so that many attachments types may be viewed as HTML even when the application that created them is not present on your system.

I might be wrong, but I don't believe that turns the service off. It only disables the feature from the standpoint of the end users.
I believe the zmconvertctl command will stop the service. Give it try and see if it helps.
Brian,
I RTFM the Admin Guide and on p. 118 it says this command controls the 'attachment conversion/indexing' function.
We do enable attachment indexing, just not html viewing of attachments, so I'm guessing the spike in kvoop processes is convertd indexing the contents of all of the attachments.
We and our customers send a lot of attachments, so is there any way to control when the convertd process indexes the documents? I'd like to schedule it for sometime in the evening if at all possible.
Thanks!
Mark
