Default Timezone problem with Apple iCal ics files

Hi,

I've installed Zimbra Open Source Edition 4.5.5 on Mac OSX and am trying to include my iCal calendars in Zimbra. I can add those using the "New Calendar/remote calendar" option and then the Calendar is displayed. However, the times are 9 hours off. (9 hours is exactly the difference between my location and the California.)

Attached is an example ICS file with (with txt extension) and a screenshot of how it shows up in zimbra. As you can see it should be July 18th, 16:45. But it is displayed in Zimbra July 19th 1:45 AM.

Any idea what the problem is?

Regards,
Gero

It may be related to that one, but it is not exactly the same. I'm not using the iSync connector but have the iCal ics file available from my local webserver and Zimbra get its from there. So the iSync connector is not in the picture.

Any suggestions on this? In it's current state it is pretty unusable...

Found way to solve this, see Bug 18697 - Appointments from iCal are 9 hours off in Zimbra Calendar

Default Clarification on Changing TZ?

Hey. I have a few people with this same issue, and after looking at the bug, I confirmed that their account timezones are set wrong on Zimbra.

What's the easiest way to correct the timezones? I figure it's something like:

zmprov ma "user" zimbaPrefTimeZoneId _____

But what do I put in for that ID? Is it a simple number, or something like (GMT-9.00) or what? Where would I find that?

Or, is this something that can be done through the administration console?

Hi,

Good question. I've been experimenting with values for this but have not find the perfect value yet (appointment are still 2 hours off in the calendar I just noted).

The timeZoneId I tried is: "(GMT+2.00) Europe/Brussels" but this doet not completely work.

So I'd only like to know where I can find a list of valid timezoneids for zimbra.

(I've not been able to find this in the admin console)
