Greetings One & All

I have a note from Zimbra which reads "...provide us with your actual users by class of service (professional/standard edition)..."

Aside from assuming this means count of users rather than a request to round up and ship our user base to Zimbra HQ in a selection of containers.

How? Where?

I'm sure this must be a FAQ but I'd be grateful if some kind soul would publish details of how to extract this info from our Network installation.

Unfortunately, the numbers reported are the count of accounts that have a specific COS - Almost all our accounts use the domain default. If I report the numbers shown I will be understating the actual number of users by a considerable amount.

Currently I am unable to comply with our contractual obligations to Zimbra without manually counting in the gui - a solution which is obviously sub-optimal.

If you're having problems with this I suggest you get in touch with your Zimbra sales contact and/or support.

I did assume this was a FAQ, but perhaps a trip to support is favourite.

My Zimbra sales contact is already monitoring this thread, being as keen as (if not more than) I am to find a resolution.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to compare installed versions so I can't say when the suggested solution became out of date.

I have a script that pulls a list of all primary accounts, mailbox size, and last login date. unfortunately, I didn't write it all (just modified it) but I can give you a starting point.

zmprov gaa -v |grep -c "cn: "

will return a count of all primary mail accounts (not aliases, forwards, or possibly distribution lists ). If anything is off, you'll get a count a little higher than the number of users you have, this happens due to some deletions not working to completely remove an entry sometimes (I haven't found the exact cause yet, but I'm on a pretty old version of Zimbra). If you need a total count of email addresses, aliases included, try
